Workshop Description

This class will improve your ability to draw and paint roots and leaves. We will start with some exercises observing and drawing roots and leaves and spend the rest of the class painting several small leaf studies. Students may work on vellum (will be available to purchase from instructor) or paper. The class will also cover mixing greens, creating dark shadow colors, and mixing the light delicate colors needed to paint roots. This class combines demonstrations, discussion of materials and techniques, hands-on time for developing skills, and lots of individual attention and feedback.

This is a BAGSC-sponsored workshop; there is no information about this workshop on The Huntington's website. If you have questions, or need additional information, please contact the BAGSC Education Chair.
