Workshop Description Mylar is a versatile choice for colored pencil. Working on both sides of the film creates brilliant, rich color. Learn how to adapt your usual working methods to achieve stunning effects. Topics include:
- color saturation;
- back-painting with acrylics; and
- atmospheric fade.
This is a BAGSC-sponsored workshop; there is no information about this workshop on The Arboretum's website. If you have questions, or need additional information, please contact the BAGSC Education Chair.
The workshop will be held at The Los Angeles County Arboretum, in the Bamboo Room on the first day. On the second and third days the workshop will move to the Oak Room at the Arboretum. Class participants will be able to move their materials to the Oak Room at the end of Day 1. The Oak Room will be secured each night, so participants can leave their artwork and supplies in the room if desired.

Parking and Entrance:
Parking is free at The Arboretum. You do not need to pay admission at the front gate to attend the workshop. Walk directly through and let them know you are here for Kathie's workshop.

About the Instructor
Kathie Miranda is an award-winning artist, juror and educator of botanical art. She teaches at The Art Students League, NYC and the New York Botanical Garden. She is an active member of the Connecticut Watercolor Society and the Colored Pencil Society of America.
