Sally Jacobs
Sally Jacobs has taught botanical illustration at Otis College of Art and Design and the Los Angeles Arboretum. Before that, she was a partner in a successful software business. Since selling the company, she has devoted most of her time to botanical art. Her early education included a BA from Cornell University, MA from Harvard University, and an EdD from UCLA.
Her drawings and paintings have been in numerous shows in Southern California. In addition, her work has been included in the ASBA/Horticultural Society Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Annual International Juried Botanical Art Exhibitions in New York City; the New York State Museum's "Focus on Nature" exhibit; the Johnson and Johnson "Art Imitates Life" exhibition; the Brand 32 Works on Paper exhibit in Los Angeles; the 5th, 6th, and 7th Annual Botanical Art Exhibit at Filoli; and the International ASBA Exhibition at the Fredrick R. Weisman Museum in Minneapolis. In 2004, her work was featured in a segment on new art collectables on CNN's "Your Money" show and she served on a National Endowment for the Arts panel.
Several of her paintings are on permanent display in the corporate offices of the American Medical Writers Association in Washington, DC. and in private collections.
