Gloria Whea-Fun Teng
Gloria Whea-Fun Teng was born in Northern China. During elementary education, Gloria began her interest in Chinese Arts, special Chinese Brush printing. She received her degree in Economics and Accounting at Tainan Home Economic College in Taiwan. Here, her artistic skills were further defined.
She moved to United State in 1970, where she focused on her family and raising her two sons. In 1995, once her family was grown, Gloria began to focus on the art, which has always been a strong part of her culture.
Gloria studied Botanical Watercolor at Otis College with Instructor Olga Eysymontt. Also Gloria was inspired by Mr. Jian Min Zeao to learn Traditional Chinese Brush Painting. She took classes for two years at the Chinese Culture Center.
Her days are now surrounded by art while she work as an Accountant at Otis College of Art and Design. This has helped her to narrow her focus and define her passion within the world of art.
Focusing on both Chinese Brush Art and Botanical Watercolors, her art has been characterized as bold with strong use of color and strokes.
May 2002, Gloria received an award for a first place of watercolor at "Beverly Hills" "Affaire in the garden"
Gloria is a member of Botanical Artists Guild of Southern California. She has displayed her artwork at Manhattan Beach Creative Arts center, Los Angeles Arboretum and Laguna Beach "Art-A-Fair."
