March 2022 Quarterly Members' Meeting

Our next all-members quarterly meeting will be held remotely on Saturday, March 12 at 9:30 am Pacific Time. The business portion will bring you up to date on upcoming exhibitions, field trips, workshops, and plans for our 25th anniversary celebration!

Our guest speaker will be Carrie Roy, Assistant Curator of Art at the Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation. Carrie is stepping into Lugene Bruno’s role upon Lugene's retirement in January. Carrie will oversee research, exhibitions, and access to the Hunt's collection of more than 31,000 artworks. She has worked as a curator, writer, and collections manager in museums and galleries for 15 years in both Colorado and Pittsburgh, and has been with the Hunt Institute for the last nine years.

Carrie will give us an overview of the history of the Hunt, how and why art selections are made, and her vision for the future of the collections. She will also talk about why and when an a botanical artist should consider submitting work to the Hunt. Several BAGSC members have work held in the Hunt collection.
