About the Event
Part 2 of our quarterly all members' meeting will be held Sunday, November 12. If you registered for Part 1 in September, you are already registered for Part 2.
Part 1: Our special guest on September 12 was Stephen Blackmore, chair of the Botanic Gardens Conservation International board (BGCI) and His Majesty’s Botanist in Scotland. Blackmore's presentation, “Gardening the Earth: Plants and People for the Future” contained a message of optimism and hope, focusing on the role of plants in the ecology of the planet and the potential of botanical gardens to contribute practical solutions to many of the natural environment’s greatest challenges.
Part 2 (Sunday, November 12, 9:30 am Pacific Time): Our special guest will be Nicole Cavender, Telleen/Jorgensen Director of the Botanical Gardens at The Huntington Library, Art Museum, and Botanical Gardens. Nicole will be discussing The Huntington's role in the global efforts of botanical gardens to address habitat restoration, and will be bringing us up to date on activities at the Brody Botanical Center.
