About the Event
Tom Carruth, a native of Pampa, Texas, has had a career in roses spanning more than 45 years. Worldwide, he has introduced over 150 new varieties, 11 of which were All-America Rose Selection Award Winners. In 2011, he was presented the Luther Burbank Award from the American Horticultural Society for extraordinary achievement in the field of plant breeding. He retired from hybridizing in 2012 and is now the E.L. and Ruth B. Shannon Curator of the Rose Collection at the Huntington Library, Art Museum and Botanical Gardens.
