BAGSC Quarterly Meeting on Zoom, September 11, 2021

Join us at 9 am Pacific Daylight Time (PDT) on Saturday, September 11 for our next BAGSC Members Quarterly Meeting, featuring a conversation with Nicole Cavender, the new Telleen/Jorgensen Director of the Botanical Gardens at the Huntington Library, Art Museum, and Botanical Gardens. Nicole succeeds Jim Folsom, coming to The Huntington from the Morton Arboretum in Chicago where she was Vice President of Science and Conservation. Nicole is the first woman to hold the position of Director of Botanical Gardens at The Huntington. She is passionate about conservation and sustainability, and the prominent role of botanical gardens in raising public awareness of climate change.

Our meeting will begin with an open chat time at 9:00 am PDT for all who want to join us and settle in. The program will begin promptly at 9:30 am PDT. Nicole will speak with us about her career, her new position, and her vision for the future of the botanical gardens at The Huntington. BAGSC enjoys a long and deep relationship with The Huntington and we are looking forward to getting to know and work with Nicole.

Following Nicole's presentation we will have a brief business meeting, where we will hear about the latest news from  Committee Chairs, upcoming workshops and exhibition opportunities, and our 25th Anniversary next year!
